National Adoption Information Clearinghouse
The NAIC is a national resource for information on all aspects of adoption for professionals, policy makers, and the general public. Clearinghouse services include technical assistance to professionals and policy makers, a library collection, publications, databases on adoption resources, and information on Federal and State legislation.

Child Citizenship Act
The Child Citizenship Act became effective on February 27, 2001.  It represents a significant and important change in the nationality laws of the United States.  Under the new law, most foreign-born children adopted by U.S. citizens will automatically acquire U.S. citizenship on the date they immigrate to the United States.  Click on Child Citizenship Act for details or the Immigration and Naturalization Service  Fact Sheet for information on how to get a Certificate of Citizenship for your child.
